2018 Tech for Learning Summit
SD 62 is co-hosting, along with SD 61, SD 63, and the EdTech team, a great professional learning opportunity this fall: the Tech for Learning Summit, Nov. 23-24, at Oak Bay High School.
This 2-day summit focuses on the meaningful and effective use of technology for learning in the K-12 classroom. This summit is open for all, including educational assistants, teachers, and PVP.
The Tech for Learning Summit also includes two keynote presentations, a demo slam competition, and a closing capstone session – plus 2 full days of hands-on workshops led by experienced and knowledgeable teachers. There will be over 60 sessions offered; sessions will cater to a range of comfort levels in using technology across all grade levels and subject areas, using a variety of devices and platforms.
Sessions include: using iPads in primary, Chromebooks and G-Suite at various levels Grade 3-12, coding and their relevant peripherals (cubetto, scratch, micro:bits, etc.), ADST, core competencies and curriculum, eportfolios (freshgrade, myBlueprint, google sites, etc.), accessible technology (Read and Write for Google, Picto4me, etc), supporting both English and French Immersion tracks, and English language learners, inclusive learning, and more!

If you present, you attend for free! We are looking for educators who are willing to present a one-hour, hands-on workshop with a focus on using technology to enhance learning. Submit a presentation proposal here. Proposals are due Friday, Oct 5th.
